For the ambiance the shop is tucked inside the Japan town mall. At the far west side. Inside the shop, is a beautifully decorated and intimate seating sections with bench-styled seats. Low lighting but a good amount of space. The servers were nice and plenty helpful with ordering and checking on us. But for the part I REALLY liked, the food. Me and my significant other ordered the Curry Udon, Tonkatsu, and the Zazu Tempura Udon. All three were absolutely fantastic. I would put it at some of the best noodles I've ever had. You may criticize or agree with me all you like, but I thoroughly enjoyed all three dishes. Not only did each bowl have wonderful presentation, but was so flavorful and well balanced. The noodles were delicious and tasted fresh. The curry had a wonderful savory flavor without dominating or being too distracting. I don't think an udon dish could be better than this. All in all, this was a shop that had actually ended up being a second choice when our other choice had too long of a wait, and all I can say is that I am glad our first choice didn't work out, because I had a wonderful time here. Whenever I am around Japantown again, I WILL be back here, and if you like some fresh noodles and some hearty curry, I highly, highly recommend that you give this place a try too. Only, make this place your first choice.

Having been to J-town so many times, I regret not giving this place a try sooner. I normally don't prefer udon because it's chewier than ramen, but this place definitely makes a great case for udon. Decent rush for a Saturday morning, but we put our names on the list online about 15 minutes before so we sat not too long after arriving. We were served quickly and started with pumpkin tempura, cause why not it's fall. Not too much tempura batter was used which I like. The cold udon I ordered though had all the flavors I could've asked for. I got a large and added corn and it was the perfect amount. I generally eat more though so if you don't, the regular size should do. I liked how the broth came on the side, since it allows you to control how soon you want to start the soggy timer, but I didn't really wait to dump the whole thing and mix everything together. Something to note is that the broth was a bit on the salty side. I'm not sure if it was because I was probably dehydrated from the night before, but if you're not used to salty foods maybe don't pour the whole thing in one go. Otherwise, it's one of the most flavorful broths I've had in a while. I liked the semi-crispiness of the beef which helped to balance the texture of the noodles, and always love a runny egg in the mix. I won't be passing this place up next time I'm in the area.

It's a treat to the eye to look at the staff making fresh udon. The udon was chewy, smooth and it went well with cold dipping sauce. It's so simple but yet so delicate. We got Zaru Udon and added the wakame and kitsune. The wakame added the texture and absorbed the dipping sauce well. The kitsune here was better than Marugame, it's bigger, less sweet. The takoyaki was good but the inside was a little too soft for me. The ambience is like what you would see in Japan

Yum! It was great- The lunch special is the way to go as the serving is huge. It is upstairs in the shopping center and got seated right away. The server was friendly and food was quick to serve. The noodles were perfectly cooked and everything was delicious. I will be back!

Their mental cream sauce udon was soo creamy and flavorful. Their service is also amazing.

This location can get super busy depending on the time you go! Got on the waitlist to wait around 30 minutes on a Saturday. We were seated around 12:40. Staff are nice and friendly and the interior of the restaurant is well-designed. Food came out around 10 minutes. The Zaru Tempura Udon was delicious. The udon noodles were bouncy and refreshing. Pick up, dip in the sauce, slurp, repeat. The tempura is perfectly crispy; I dipped it in my friend's mentai cream sauce -- so good. Second time I came at 5 pm on Friday and restaurant was empty but was starting to fill up by the time we left. The noodles this time were a bit softer and not as chewy but still okay. I personally liked the Curry Katsu Udon; it has plenty of flavor, the crispy katsu is perfect for dipping, and a bowl of rice to soak up that curry sauce. Overall, a solid restaurant in Japantown. I will come back to try their other dishes!

Saturday lunch Hopped on Yelp waitlist, very convenient Waited 15min Service was exceptionally quick Ambiance inside was nice, but quite warm Housemade udon noodles (can see staff making it through front window) Ate: Tempura gyoza !unique item alert! Kitsune udon Tempura udon Best udon and tempura ever. Can't wait to return.

Went on a Sunday during lunch, and the waiting time was fairly short. You can visit the nearby stores in the same floor while waiting as well. I got the combo with beef bowl and udon, while my cousin got the tonkotsu udon. They were soooooo good The peach soda drink was sooo good too!!! Loved every part of the doing experience. Must try!!!

Yummy Having been to the Mountain View location, I already knew what to expect. Their curry udon is my fav. Served with plenty of udon and just the right amount of tonkatsu. Their tonkatsu came out a tad greasy but was still good. The bowl of rice on the side was a nice touch as I had plenty of curry leftover. PSA: Large is very large. You probs won't be able to finish it but if you eat with your eyes like me or sharing, it's worth getting
